Situation and vulnerability
The risk depends in particular on the location and contact with the tick. Neurological, joint or cardiac damage may complicate infection.
Signs and limits of their interpretation
A migrant erythema is a redness that gradually spreads; it does not always look like a target. Other manifestations may occur without this injury.
Diagnosis and monitoring
A typical erythema migrant is clinically evaluated. Antibodies may be missing at first; an isolated serology does not automatically prove an active infection.

Prevention and care
Quickly remove the tick with a suitable tool and monitor the evolution. A redness that spreads or new symptoms require advice.
Practical issues
Should we take a blood test immediately after each injection?
An immediate test does not exclude a recent infection. The need for examinations is determined according to the symptoms and medical assessment.
Preparing for an exchange with a professional
- Place, date and probable duration of attachment
- Photographs dated from an evolutionary redness
- New symptoms and treatments
Bring the full minutes and dates. This information facilitates evaluation; its collection must not delay an urgent appeal.
